The eHealth for Regions Network organizes virtual seminars.
They take place via video conference system in English language. It is a very good opportunity to discuss regional projects or other interesting current topics without great effort and costs. The seminars address health care professionals, politicians and IT-professionals. Participation is free of charge.
A virtual seminar about home monitoring of COPD patients in Denmark took place on 2nd November 2016.
In the project TeleCare Nord telemedicine for patients with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) was tested. The COPD patients received a so-called TeleKit, which gave patients the opportunity to measure and report data about their condition on their own.

The first virtual seminar in 2017 took place on 23rd May. Via Adobe Connect the participants learned about eHealth Literacy and other pre-conditions for a sustainable and effective use of eHealth services. The definition of eHealth Literacy, different measurement tools and interventions to improve the eHealth Literacy were discussed. The participants reported on research activities in their countries and agreed that still eHealth Literacy is too seldom on the radar of most stakeholders in healthcare settings.
A virtual seminar about the project Demantec – Dementia and innovative Technologies in Nursing Homes – took place on 24th October 2017 via Adobe Connect. The virtual seminar gave a general overview about the project Demantec and provided comprehensive information regarding the research activities and research findings in work package 3: Potential and Benefits Analysis. Participants from Denmark, Finland and Germany shared and discussed their knowledge and experiences regarding technologies and people suffering from dementia.
Demantec is a German-Danish Interreg 5a project with a duration of 3 years. The cross-border cooperation between four German and six Danish project partners and more than 20 network partners has the goal of developing eHealth solutions that are tailored to the needs of people with dementia. Moreover, processes in nursing homes are supported. In addition, eHealth solutions are to be integrated into future training and work of care staff.
